It seems that you would like to hear about my thoughts on the Israel/Palestine conflict. And although I find it an extremely challenging topic to talk about out loud because of the violence, okay, I’ll bite.
My overall attitude is that Israel should not be bombing innocent civilians in Palestine. They seem entirely indiscriminate with their air strikes – hospitals, schools, and refugee camps. Nowhere is safe.
It breaks my heart to think about what the Palestinian people are facing right now. One very sad video showed a man saying that the only thing that differentiates Palestinians from each other right now is their ‘time of death.’
And I don’t understand why many world leaders and powers seem to be siding with Israel. It doesn’t make any sense to me. Yes, the Jewish people were established there by the British after the terrible times during WWII, but they then went out and fought Palestinians and took a whole heap more of their land just a few decades later.
It was not okay in my opinion, and this isn’t okay either.
The Hamas attack on the south of Israel was unforgivable. It is soul-destroying to hear about the Israeli civilians who were subjected to this brutality.
I just don’t think that bombing innocent Palestinians is going to dethrone Hamas. And if they are successful in annihilating this terrorist government, they have zero plan for what comes next. Some other more radicalised groups may come and take Hamas’ place.
It is beyond devastating, that is for sure. I want Israel to stop.
