What do you think about the whole renewables energy thing? Sorry if you need to sleep. Read it tomorrow if you prefer).
It is interesting to get energy at wholesale rates (plus a fee) and to see the hour to hour change in energy prices. During summer days energy is dirt cheap and on winter evenings, the prices have me cosy under a heated blanket. Because I donāt feel too excited about paying 66c per kWh (or $19.80 sometimes! š® )
It is such an interesting constraint, no? The glut of solar energy during the day. I donāt know too much about wind energy but maybe it is generated at night too.
But the nuclear idea is just weird.
Did you read Malcolm Turnbullās article? I noticed that he mentioned hydroelectric energy.
I feel like maybe it is like personal finance in a way. The more energy streams we have the less risk that the lights will go off. So, maybe hydro electricity is a good alternative to coal. I am going to research that tomorrow.
It reminds me of Tim Flanneryās book Seaweed and Sunshine I think it is called. He writes about a special form of hydrogen generation that is clean and reliable and could address the issue with the lack of solar at night time.
so interesting. Thank you if you suggested this conversation. Xx
